Bioi contribute to the world through my work, art, or family. i live in seattle and am married, a father of one, a lutheran and live my life with purpose. i am my own person and do my own things and believe in my own ideas. my ideas and political opinions are all over the place and are for my own reasons. i believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ and his socialist ideas by helping people in need and welcoming all people. yet i am pretty open-minded and hold some conservative values.
i love drawing, photography (and wish i could shoot way better pictures), and monoprints (printmaking). i love to travel and visit large cities, small towns, and remote or exotic places. i love the outdoors and like to hike, camp, and raft. i collect star wars legos and ho scale model trains in my spare time/money (which i have little of either). i enjoy satire, poking fun of idiots, bitching about government, and enjoy cute girls in skirts. someday i want to go rock climbing, bungee jumping, and kayaking. i also want to start doing more art again... drawing and printmaking to help me creatively release my frustrations and feelings.
i am the design director for a cluster of radio stations in seattle. i am responsible for design and direction of the brands, advertising, marketing and promotions. prior to my promotion i worked as a broadcast designer for the television station located in the same building. as a broadcast designer i created broadcast still elements and animations for the tv news shows. prior to this gig i use to run my own studio where i did identities, brands, annual reports, packaging, catalogs, brochures, and websites. before my studio and during the slow times of my studio, i worked as a contractor/freelancer with staffing agencies like aquent, creative group, creative assets, big fish or found work on my own and worked at a number of seattle agencies (such as ddb, bbfm, methodologie, heckler associates, and j walter thompson) and in-house departments (such as microsoft studios, t-mobile, rei, nordstrom, and wizards of the coast). when i lived in milwaukee, i worked at a tv station, marketing firm, and large advertising agency. i went to a four year art school at the milwaukee institute of art & design and have a bfa in "graphic design" (they renamed it to communication design just before i graduated).
so far my travels have taken me to a number of locations in the states, canada, and to new zealand. i hope to get to barcelona in the next year or two. check out the other places i want to travel to someday.
